Senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday claimed that party chairman Imran Khan's chief of staff Shahbaz Gul was "tortured in a CIA cell".
Addressing a press conference of his own in response to Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah's statement, Chaudhry said that violence against political prisoners cannot be condoned under any circumstances.
"I am surprised that Rana Sanaullah has not learned anything from the violence he did in the past," Chaudhry said, expressing disbelief at the PTI's allegations of "violence" against Gul. They are being dismissed so easily. "
"If his health is good, why aren't they letting anyone meet Gil?" He also asked the question: "If they were not tortured, why are they avoiding the inquiry?"
Reiterating his proposal from yesterday, he said that PTI demands the formation of an independent commission comprising Saad Rafique, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Shireen Mazari and others.
He said that a judge who does not consider torture as a serious issue has no right to remain in office.
Chaudhry said that PTI will file a case against Islamabad Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General and Lady Magistrate.
